Improve your Amigurumi Skills! Make this Super Cute Crochet Turtle

Turtle is all decked out in his best beachwear ready for a fun-filled day on the beach. Kids are going to love role-playing ‘beach-style’ with this cute crochet Turtle.

It’s an easy pattern to make but better suited to those who have had a little experience with Amigurumi before. You will work the toy bottom-up and join the legs and arms in to your work as you go. The only sewing in the whole project is to attach the turtle’s shell! The floaties and the bathing cap are removable.

Thanks for supporting my blog and I hope you enjoy this free pattern.

An ad-free printable version of this pattern is available at my Etsy or Love Crochet shop for a small fee.

Pattern Notes

The turtle is worked from the bottom up with legs and arms joined into the work as you go.

Work in continuous rounds, marking the beginning stitch as you work. Add stuffing intermittently as you work.

Pattern is written in US terminology.

Gauge

Gauge is not important for this pattern. You can adjust the hook and yarn size as desired, but keep in mind the size of the finished object will vary.

Working with the DK/8 ply yarn and 4mm hook my finished toy measures approximately 24 cm (9.5 inches) height and 26.5cm (10.5 inches) around its widest point (the bottom).

Next Ch2, then ss into the middle stitch on the side of 2nd foot with the right side facing you. Ensure the bubble toes on both feet are facing the same direction. Pinning down first is helpful to stabilise your work and give you an idea of how it will fit. Ensure that you stuff the turtle shell before closing up the seam.
