Get Addicted to Amigurumi with this Free Pattern
This Amigurumi pattern is so much fun and completely addictive! The Monsters with Mohawks are worked from the bottom up with legs and arms joined as you go, so there is no sewing or seaming involved.
This project is the ultimate scrap buster – don’t throw away your leftover pieces of yarn but use them instead to create a funky mohawk for this cute little monster.
Another great thing about this project is that each monster uses less than a 100gram skein of Worsted/10 ply yarn.
An ad-free printable version of this pattern is available at my Etsy or Love Crochet shop for a small fee.
Thanks for supporting my blog and I hope you enjoy making these monsters as much as I do.

The Hair – Mohawk Style
For the hair, you will use the hook rug method. This is a good opportunity to use up any scrap yarn you might have lying around. Be sure to follow the centre line of the head when attaching your pieces to create a Mohawk style. You can use as many colours in your monsters’ hair as you like, use one colour or use ten, it doesn’t really matter! It’s all about having a little fun and giving each doll its own personality.
Remember you can always trim the hair later to make it neater so don’t worry too much if the hair isn’t perfectly even to begin.
The Hook Rug method
Cut your yarn in equal sizes of about 6-10 inches long (depending on
how long you want your hairstyle to be).
Take one piece of yarn and fold it in half. Pull the loop through a gap in your crochet work at the head. Now put the two ends through
the loop and pull tight to attach. Continue working to attach each piece like this to create the hair.
Mouth
I cut my mouth details out of felt and used hot glue to attach them to the toy. Use different shapes to give your monster different expressions.
Your monster is now complete. Love, hug, enjoy
